Our client is a leading manufacturer of commercial trucks and buses, currently seeking an experienced EES Validation Technician to join their team at their New Carlisle, IN location. This role will involve working one day directly with customers at their locations, requiring strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, and test prototype and current product Class 5-8 trucks and buses
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and troubleshooting
- Proficiently work from schematics, diagrams, verbal, and written instructions
- Responsible for electrical harness installation and modification
- Create test harnesses and instrument vehicles for testing
- Use oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, current probes to make measurements
- Utilize various diagnostic tools such as Vector CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewsoft, and LabView to collect and analyze data
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Chat
- Test electrical circuits and components, perform wiring and soldering tasks
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Safely setup and lift vehicles using ARI-Hetra Mobile Lift Column Lifts
- Operate industry-standard mechanic tools including impacts, torque wrenches, power probes, soldering iron, electrical crimping/depinning tools
- Assist with CDL license operations for school bus and heavy truck driving
- Participate in ASE certification programs where applicable
- Conduct tests in various environments including cold/hot chambers, dyno, and wind tunnel
- Utilize Cummins InSite/Cal-Term tools for ECM and ACM calibrations
- Apply Allison service tools for TCM calibrations
- Adhere to safety protocols for electric work
Requirements:
- Five plus years of Automotive Dealership Technician Experience, including ICE and EV Automotive Systems
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and trouble shooting
- Preferred experience in both Hybrid and EV vehicle diagnostics
- Ability to proficiently work from schematics, diagrams, verbal, and written instructions
- Experience with electrical harness installation and modification
- Familiarity with oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, current probes usage
- Knowledge of Vector CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewsoft, and LabView
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of Electrical Circuits and Components
- Wiring and Soldering Skills
- Ability to safely operate ARI-Hetra Mobile Lift Column Lifts
- Experience with industry-standard mechanic tools
- CDL license for heavy truck operation (preferred)
- ASE Certifications (desired)
- Experience in a testing environment (cold/hot chamber, dyno, wind tunnel)
- Familiarity with Cummins InSite/Cal-Term tools
- Knowledge of Allison service tools
- Understanding of Safety Protocols for Electric Work
